VINEYARDS ANTONIO MONTERO

We must conceive the so-called Ribeiro Region, as a privileged region due to its adequate climate that has been making it possible for centuries to cultivate a precious vine whose rich variety houses various strains among which the Treixadura, the Torrontes or the Loureiro stand out, as they can exemplify perfectly our vineyards. Located in the west of the Orense province, this pleasant land is bathed by three rivers, Miño Avia and Arnoia, presenting in its nearly three thousand hectares, a soft and pleasant orography impregnated with history, beauty, uniqueness and without a doubt, a wine culture exceptional.

TREIXADURA

Elegance and complexity, it produces wines of elegant fragances and full of nuances. It brings up like no grape the expression of the terroir, together with reminescences of fruits, aromatic herbs, citrus and flowers. Well-structured and fresh to the palate, as well as tasty and deep.

TORRONTÉS

Delicate and pleasant, with a dominant expression of fruits and aromatic herbs. A light and balanced structure with a silky finish.

LOUREIRA

Exuberant and fresh, with aromatic fragrances dominated by floral notes, citrus and fresh aromatic herbs. It produces light, delicate, and elegant wines, as well as very fresh.

ALBARIÑO

Intensely, delicate, of lovely aroma, dominated by stone fruits, flowes, balsamic and citrus. They present silky.

It is in this successful and dreamlike natural setting that our wine takes shape, echoing the artisan practices of this land and respecting the purest harmony between avant-garde modernity and centuries-old tradition that gives our product that unmistakable stamp of distinction.

Likewise, it is mandatory to refer to the longstanding tradition of all our crops. Our early vineyards, whose work dates back to several generations in time, are located on the slope of the so-called “Coto de Novelle”, on the left bank of the omnipresent Miño. Among these original vines, brimming with history and work, it is worth highlighting vineyards such as “A Ponte”, “O Quinteiro”, “Fonte Quente” or “La Calzada” for their privileged location and imposing character. All of them share a sunny existence rooted in a clay and sandy soil.

Finally, we must highlight the heterogeneity, both in location and type of land, that characterizes our vineyards, a feature of vital importance since it allows us to print a greater richness and tonality on all our wines.

The Winery

Our winery is, above all, a family farm based on the pleasant wine-growing tradition of Ribeiro. So much so that his genuine name, “Antonio Montero”, has been passed from generation to generation, being the anthroponym of the three current managers of the winery: the “grandfather”, the “father”, and the “grandson”.
